Story:
Indigenous peoples are particularly renowned for their basket-weaving techniques. These baskets may then be traded for goods but may also be used for religious ceremonies. This artwork depicts a weaving basket. Aboriginal women use un-spun vegetable fibres and shape them into a basket form; other materials include straw, animal hair, hide, grasses, thread, and wood.
Raelene has carried on the tradition of her childhood memories of watching her mother and grandmothers weave baskets, creating incredible patterns.
