Tanya is an established talented artist from the Utopia region. 240km north-east of (Alice Springs). Tanya comes from a family of acclaimed artists, and was taught Dreaming stories by her grandmother, renowned artist Ada Bird. She is the daughter of the artists Paddy Bird (deceased) and Eileen Bird. Her auntie is Karen Bird, daughter to the late and very renown artist Linsday Bird Mpetyane.
The members of her family influenced Tanya to learned about the artistic practices which support her paintings from the late legendary artist Emily Kame Kngwarreye.
Tanya has started painting the bush medicine leaf in the style of Her late auntie, artist Gloria Petyarre, widely recognized as one of the most renown aboriginal artist famous for began painting the dreaming of Bush Medicine Leaves.
Tanya Bird Mpetyane gained international acclaim for her Indigenous works that continue to generate in Australian and Internationals exhibitions. Her artwork has drawn attention from avid collectors.
