Story:
This artwork depicts Grass Seeds, an important plant from the Utopia region in central Australia. Inspired by a type of small grass found in Utopia called Lyaw, Munyeroo, or Pigsweed, Barbara’s Grass Seed paintings consist of small brush strokes overlapping and weaving to create a swaying effect. It is an energetic style exclusive to Barbara. She paints the grass in all colours of its life cycle, from the bright green after rain to the red of bushfires and the grey and black after the fire has run its course.
