Story:
Janganpa jukurrpa travels all over Warlpiri country. Janganpa is an animal that often nests in hollows of white gum trees (Wapunungku). This story comes from Mawurrji, which is west of Yuendumu and north of Pikilyi (Vaughan Spring).
The prints on the painting are possum tracks, and wavy lines are the trail their tails left on the ground. The concentric circles are the trees in which the possums live.
Men and women would leave at night for Janganpa hunting. They would wait in the shadows of the night with a boomerang in hand.
